Are you a Minneapolis building or business owner that has a story to share? Have you been looking for a way to increase the visibility of your organization? Doors Open Minneapolis may be the opportunity you've been waiting for to do just that!

Doors Open Minneapolis is an annual weekend-long event that gives the public the opportunity to explore the buildings that tell our city’s story. From theaters to business hubs, sacred spaces to private clubs, sports complexes to engineering wonders, historical gems to not-even-open-yet buildings, Doors Open Minneapolis will give visitors a free behind-the-scenes look at over 100 exciting venues. Building owners and caretakers will provide unique perspectives that illustrate why these venues, people, and businesses, are central to our city’s identity.

The first Doors Open Minneapolis was produced in April of 2019. 112 venues participated, and over 17,000 individuals attended! Venues, volunteers, and attendees overwhelmingly considered the event a success and thoroughly enjoyed their experience. With the pandemic putting Doors Open Minneapolis on hold for the past few years, we are excited to announce its return on May 13th & 14th, 2023! Rethos will coordinate the event in partnership with Doors Open Founder Scott Mayer, the City of Minneapolis, the American Institute of Architects,  and many more important local organizations.

Join this optional venue informational session to learn more about the event, ask questions, and envision what Doors Open Minneapolis might look like for you! Registration is appreciated, but walk-ins are welcome.

All questions can be directed to Kelly Fischer at kelly@rethos.org.

Note: Venues are only eligible if they exist within Minneapolis city limits.

This event is brought to you by Heritage Tourism at Rethos. Heritage Tourism provides unique tourism opportunities that explore the stories of our communities, the people, and the places they love.
